Sanrio & Hello Kitty
A thrift shop with a genuinely deep Sanrio corner — secondhand Hello Kitty, Kuromi, My Melody and Cinnamoroll plush, wallets, bags and accessories on the Northwest Side.
Worth being straight about this, because it is the thing everyone searches: there is no official Sanrio flagship store in Chicago. You will find Sanrio sections inside larger retailers and a rotating amount of it at specialty shops, but a dedicated Sanrio store is not something the city has.
What Chicago does have is secondhand Sanrio, and a fair amount of it passes through here. Jojin’s Kitty is a thrift shop — the name is not an accident — and Hello Kitty and her Sanrio friends are one of the things we deliberately look for when items come in.
The Sanrio corner is one of the largest single themes in the shop, and it is broader than just Hello Kitty:
Because it is all secondhand, the Sanrio here skews older than what is in stores now — late-90s and 2000s pieces show up regularly, which is exactly what people who grew up with it are actually looking for.
New Sanrio is easy to buy and identical everywhere. The interesting pieces — discontinued characters, old packaging, the Kuromi thing you had in middle school — only exist secondhand. That is the whole appeal of digging through a thrift shop instead of adding to cart, and it is why the Sanrio shelf here is worth checking more than once. Stock turns over every week.
4100 N Pulaski Rd, just north of Irving Park Rd in Old Irving Park. Easy to reach from Portage Park, Avondale, Albany Park and Logan Square, and street parking is usually available right out front.

There is no official Sanrio flagship store in Chicago. For secondhand Sanrio — Hello Kitty, Kuromi, My Melody, Cinnamoroll and others — Jojin’s Kitty Thrift Shop at 4100 N Pulaski Rd keeps a large rotating section, open Monday through Saturday, 10am to 7pm.
Our Sanrio section is one of the biggest themes in the shop and includes plush, wallets, bags, storage cases and accessories. Because everything is thrifted, it turns over weekly — the live inventory above shows what is on the floor today.

Everything is secondhand and sold as-is, and we look pieces over before they go out. You are welcome to inspect anything in person, and we will tell you what we know about a piece before you buy it.
