Where to find Monster High in Chicago

New Monster High is easy — any big-box toy aisle carries the current reboot line. The dolls people are actually hunting for are the original 2010s generation, and those only exist secondhand. Jojin’s Kitty is a thrift shop, and Monster High is one of the things we deliberately watch for when items come in.

What actually turns up

The Monster High shelf rotates constantly, but the mix usually looks like this:

Because it is all secondhand, the Monster High here skews toward the original G1 run rather than the current reboot — exactly the era collectors and people who grew up with it are looking for.

Why a thrift shop is the better hunt

Original-generation Monster High was discontinued years ago, so the only way to get it is secondhand — and online prices have climbed accordingly. Digging through a thrift shelf is where the deals still are, and it is why this section is worth checking more than once. Stock turns over every week.

Common questions

Where can I buy Monster High dolls in Chicago?

For secondhand Monster High — original-generation dolls, playsets and accessories — Jojin’s Kitty Thrift Shop at 4100 N Pulaski Rd keeps a rotating shelf, open Monday through Saturday, 10am to 7pm. Stock is thrifted, so it changes weekly.

Do you have original G1 Monster High dolls?

That is mostly what turns up. Because everything here is secondhand, the Monster High that comes through skews toward the original 2010s run — the dolls collectors are actually hunting for — rather than the current reboot line.

Are the dolls complete with accessories?

It varies piece by piece, as with any thrifted doll. Some arrive complete with stands, brushes and diaries; others are the doll alone. We note what we know about each piece, and you are welcome to inspect anything in person before you buy.

Which Monster High characters do you get?

Draculaura, Frankie Stein, Clawdeen Wolf and Lagoona Blue turn up most often, with rarer characters like Spectra, Operetta and Abbey Bominable appearing now and then. Call or text (312) 610-0321 and we will check the shelf for you.
