Every toy store in Chicago that buys new stock is selling roughly the same catalogue. The thing you actually remember — the Fisher-Price Little People figure, the Lalaloopsy, the Cabbage Patch doll, the figure from a line that got cancelled in 2004 — is not in that catalogue. It only exists secondhand.
The toy section is the largest part of this shop by a wide margin, and it is genuinely unpredictable. Vintage figures and playsets, dolls, plush, Squishmallows, trading cards, and a steady stream of things that defy a category.
Toys are the fastest-turning section in the shop. If you are bringing kids, it is worth knowing that the floor genuinely looks different week to week — which is the reason people come back.
Nothing here is priced against a collector guide. A vintage figure costs what a secondhand vintage figure should cost, which is most of the appeal — you can let a kid actually play with it, and you can pick up something you have not seen in twenty years without thinking hard about it.

For secondhand and vintage toys specifically, thrift shops beat new-stock retailers. Jojin’s Kitty Thrift Shop at 4100 N Pulaski Rd runs a large rotating toy section of vintage figures, dolls, plush and Funko Pop, open Monday through Saturday, 10am to 7pm.

Everything is secondhand and sold as-is. Items are looked over before they go on the floor, and condition is part of how a piece is priced. You can inspect anything in person before buying.
